Internet Marketing’s Big, Red Buttons!

The Easy ButtonTake a look at the image on the left and let me ask you a question. Is this what you are looking for when it comes to your online business? A big, shiny, red easy button that once pushed will somehow magically deliver all your dreams and solve all your problems for the rest of your life? The reason I ask is that so many people get into Internet marketing based on the promise of easy riches for little or no effort usually because of promises made by unscrupulous marketers that are wildly exaggerated at best or outright dishonest at worst. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, the reality is somewhat different from these promises that all to often attract people and ultimately disappoint.

You know the standard sales pitch. It goes like this; If you buy this $49 course I will show you how to make $1257.34 a day, every day and spend just 5 minutes a week doing so. Get started right away and you can make your first $1257.34 within 24 hours… but hurry, this offer closes in 22 minutes! Sounds great, doesn’t it? Well, both you and I know that if you didn’t allow yourself to be pushed into buying the course within the allotted 22 minutes you would think about it and realise that it is a waste of $49. You have heard the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is”. However, if you do go ahead and buy this fictional $49 course then I suspect you will end up pushing a lot more big, red buttons.[bctt tweet=”If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is” username=”donaldgvn”]

The Panic ButtonAfter you have parted with your hard earned cash you will most likely start out following the path suggested by the course. At first, you will be enthusiastic and diligent about it. You will do exactly what you are told to do and it not until the first few days have past and you are not making the promised amount of money or, worse, none at all and you are putting in hours and hours of precious time doing so. Eventually, you will go looking for another big red button… the panic button!

The Next ButtonAs time continues its relentless march into the future and panic takes a harder and harder hold and still you are seeing little or nothing for all your efforts you will look to press one of the next two buttons… the ‘next’ button or the ‘power off’ button. Most people struggling to get started will press the ‘next’ button meaning the will simply drop the program or course they have been working with and look for the next big, shiny object that catches their attention… and, believe me, there is no shortage of them out there.

The Power Off Button

We have all been there, jumping from one program to the next in the hope that we accidentally run into the one that actually delivers what it promises… quick easy profits, in great abundance with a minimum of effort. For many, after a few (and in some cases not so few) revolutions of the roundabout they become convinced that this whole ‘make money online’ thing is nothing but a big scam and that they have been had. Once they reach this point they press the last button that seems available to them… the ‘power off’ button and quit the whole idea and dream altogether. They might go out an buy a lotto ticket in the hope that it might provide the financial freedom that they have been looking for but they have simply given up on Internet marketing as a solution to their problems.

The Help Button

Unfortunately, they have overlooked one more button… the ‘help’ button! Let me be blunt here. You are never going to make serious money from an out-of-the-box solution. These one-size-fits-all programs will make plenty of money for their authors but precious little for those who purchase them. Perhaps they will work for a time but eventually, the ‘loophole’ that the author has found gets closed or the idea was never going to work in the first place.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not suggesting that every digital product the is sold online falls into this category. What I am saying is that there is no such thing as a program that allows you to make a lot of money by doing nothing. As with everything else in this world of ours, success is a reflection of the effort you put in in the first place. [bctt tweet=”Success is a reflection of the effort you put in in the first place – @donaldgvn” username=”donaldgvn”].

So, where does this ‘help’ button fit into all this? What I am talking about here is finding someone who can point you in the right direction. Someone who can show you what steps to take and in what order. Someone who can advise you on where to spend your money and how to see the best return on that investment. In short, I am talking about a coach or a teacher. You see, there is money to be made online, you just need to go about getting your share by putting in the hard work and doing the right things.

So where can you find such a person? The first place to start is the Internet. Look for someone who is already making money online. Do the thing you should have done at the time you bought your first course or program… do your due diligence. Check them out. It is easy to see if someone is the real deal.

To make it easy for you let me give you a link to a webinar that John Thornhill runs. For those who are not aware, John is the coach I used when I realized I needed to press the ‘help’ button. I love his honest and direct approach (maybe because that’s me too) and I can tell you he sorted me out and set me on the right path. Here is the link to the webinar: Take a look… and don’t worry the webinar will cost you nothing and will give you some great information. If nothing else it will prove to you that there are real people making real money from this ‘Internet marketing thing’. It will also give you some idea of what to look for in a coach.

Please, do leave a comment here if you have something to add to this little rant of mine. I am tired of seeing real people being taken advantage of and our industry being brought into disrepute by lazy and unscrupulous people.
